Description |
BILINGUAL FIELD PROMOTIONS MANAGER
Kare Distribution a leading manufacturer, marketer and direct distributor of high quality, high value prepaid calling cards and financial services is seeking a bilingual (English Spanish), energetic, creative, self-starter, with the ability to develop and execute marketing/promotional initiatives at retail and at the grass roots level. Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of traditional consumer marketing, experience working with local media and a solid understanding of effective grass roots/field marketing practices to increase brand awareness in the Hispanic/Mexican communities.
Headquartered in New York City, Kare Distribution has offices across the US.
Principal Accountability: The incumbent will be responsible for
developing and implementing marketing programs
establishing and maintaining strong relationships with relevant media, community and government agencies and partners
coordinating and managing the implementation of events and key promotions market-wide
Responsibilities Include:
- Identifying key strategic 'marketing' partners and prospects in the community.
- Creating segmented and prioritized market map for promotions.
- Building and maintaining relationships within the community as a company representative.
- Adapting and remaining current in the changing marketplace to effectively communicate with customers and prospects.
- Recruiting, training and managing a field team of project workers to be accountable and effective promoters.
- Developing innovative and creative promotions approaches to target end customers.
- Maintaining constant communication with in-market distribution partner and parent company to keep informed of activities and progress.
- Developing events and promotions calendar and budget.
- Working with agencies and marketing partners on promotions development and execution.
Knowledge and Skills:
- 3+ years experience with direct people management
- 5+ years of hands-on marketing and consumer promotions experience
- Demonstrated success in a world class field marketing/field promotions organization
- Experience working with either similar target market (Hispanic consumer) or similar retail channels (independent c-stores, small chain stores, liquor stores, bodegas, tiendas, ethnic supermarkets);
- Candidate can come from either client or promotions agency background.
- At least 5 years direct experience participating in the development and implementation of field marketing, events and retail promotions programs and demonstrated expertise in new market planning. Ability to collaborate with both the marketing team to develop market-specific materials and with the District Sales Managers in the geographic location.
- Ideal candidate has been involved in building field marketing organizations from "zero" and has a methodology and approach in measuring field marketing executions against a marketing plan.
- Keen market intelligence and familiarity with local market geography, culture, retail environment, etc. including a strong network of potential marketing partners (vendors, contract workers, community organizations/associations, and media partners); possess strong "street" instincts and a keen ability to customize a marketing plan for a specific market.
- At least 3 years of managing a field marketing organization and a demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, train and manage street level marketers.
Personal and Organizational "Culture" Characteristics:
- As the "face" of the company in the designated market, he/she MUST speak Spanish and be able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and empathy for the target market.
- The ideal candidate must be extremely self-motivated, independent and ambitious with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- He/She must function well in a fast-paced, fast growing environment and be comfortable with organizational ambiguity/uncertainty as well as the need to build a structure and organization instead of "joining" an existing one.
- Must be highly organized and disciplined and be comfortable working up to 75% of the time in the field.
- Basic PC knowledge and Microsoft Office applications knowledge required

Salary:
Potential to earn $60K - $75K
Base + bonus

7 days a week operation with weekend work required.
